Strategic Action and Superintendent Goals
The mission of the Equity and Empowerment Steering Committee is to promote excellence in all aspects of Upper Dublin School District facilitating processes that remove barriers to access and advancement on the basis of race, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, religion, or disability for students and staff. Excellence—embracing and exhibiting the highest level of quality in research, teaching and service—can be achieved when diverse perspectives are engaged.
The Steering Committee is comprised of the subcommittee chairs/co-chairs; only the Steering Committee is a District group. The subcommittees are independent of the District; however, like PTOs/PTAs, etc., they facilitate events for students, parents/guardians, families, and caregivers.
Questions about the work of the District's Equity and Empowerment Steering Committee should be directed to the Superintendent of Schools. Questions about the subcommittees should be directed to the subcommittee chairs/co-chairs, for which contact information appears on this page.
The Equity and Empowerment subcommittees cordially invite interested members of the District and community to join one of our committees by emailing committee chairs/co-chairs. Committee chairs/co-chairs share agendas, etc., with their respective groups.
Equity and Empowerment Steering Committee Chair: Superintendent of Schools
The EESC is comprised of the chairs of each of the subcommittees. The chairs meet with the Superintendent periodically and serve as an advisory group to the Superintendent. Only the Equity and Empowerment Steering Committee is run by the District.
